I wasn't too pleased to see Laos or Mozambique, two of my top post-clerkship vacation spots, listed in the NYT's "
53 Places to Go in 2008." Thankfully, most of the listed accommodations focus on luxury, which is not something I associate with my travels.

I know! Laos is lovely, but it is starting for sure...and man, there is some serious (makes you feel kind of weird) luxury places there. still cheap places to stay to be found and we enjoyed them fully, so don't get discouraged. street food=very good.
